THIS IS SKELLEFTEÅ
There are lots of things to do and see in northern Sweden
LEARN ABOUT NATURE
Sweden is a great place if you are interested in wildlife. Besides moose, reindeer, deer and various birds (which you can spot without too much effort) Sweden is also home to predators such as the bear, wolf, lynx and wolverine.
If you would like to witness a moose these are commonly seen in dusk or dawn. The moose is a big animal, weighing up to 550 kg and measuring 2 meters in withers. Taking the car at a slow rate into narrow forest roads with occasionally open fields hands you a good chance to spot one.
LEARN ABOUT THE TOWN
Skellefteå is a bubbly, close to nature town with about 70.000 inhabitants, placed in the northern part of Sweden. Being 2 hours in car from the polar circle gives the city a magical midnight light from June to July – and multiple northern lights in winter. During your free time in Skellefteå you could do shopping, go fishing, clubbing, pay a visit to the beach, try the adventure park, enjoy a good lunch by the river or sit down at any of the several pavement cafés.
